My daughter was just diagnosed with RSV. I'm waiting for the doctor to tell me whether I need to take her to the hospital or not. If she doesn't call within the next 15 minutes, I'm taking her anyway.

I'm so scared for my baby girl.

My baby had it at five weeks, and he was fine. She is a lot older and stronger.

Good wishes and prayers abounding.

I hope all goes well. Sorry to hear about that.
BTW, i'm pissed at you for not posting for two days. I was gonna rip into you after three (that's my "flip out over Yvonne not wrigint in her damn blog" threshold. I will try to complain more quickly next time... ooooooo there better not be a next time.... ;)

Oh no. I'm thinking about you guys today.

Posted by: Terri at January 19, 2005 12:29 PM

Oh god, more bad news. :( I can't handle this.

Yvonne, I'm thinking about you hun. Give Gabby a kiss.

Posted by: Stacey at January 19, 2005 12:36 PM

I would wait to hear from your doctor rather than taking her to the germ factory that they call the hospital if it isn't absolutely needed.

But that's just me.

Virtually all children contract it by the age of three. It's usually only serious in very young infants and infants with compromised immune systems.

PS Gabo had it last week and is doing beautifully this week.

Posted by: Mieke at January 19, 2005 12:40 PM

I waited. She sees her doctor at 2:15 and then she will decide whether she is going to admit her or not. The problem is Gabby is having a hard time breathing.

I feel much more calm now, and Mieke, that is so good to know.

Posted by: y at January 19, 2005 12:43 PM

both of you are in my prayers

Posted by: kimberly at January 19, 2005 12:56 PM

I'm SO sorry. Prayers and hugs and warmth being sent your way.

Posted by: Jazzy at January 19, 2005 12:57 PM

I hope that she will be okay. My son was on the preventative vaccine and he didn't get RSV. But now he is 16 mths and was taken away from it and he got RSV. YOu have to be careful w/ younger babies and I hope that nothing is wrong with her and if she is for her to get better!

Posted by: Johanna at January 19, 2005 01:36 PM

I'm praying for her and hope she will get well soon. Hugs!

I'm so sorry to read this. I hope the appt. went well -- I'm thinking of you both!

Posted by: robyn at January 19, 2005 03:57 PM

Poor girlie - RSV is not a fun illness. Hospital is an excellent idea. I can't wait to read what happened, I'll be praying for her.

Posted by: chasmyn at January 19, 2005 04:04 PM

Sweet thing, all you need right now is for her to be okay. I know no words are going to help. You've lived through things before, and i know that ms. Gabriella Mercedes got some of that fighting spirit. God won't take her, not just yet. He gave her to you because you need her. And he'll let you keep her. I'm praying for you sug.

Posted by: Sarah at January 19, 2005 04:40 PM

I know how scary that is, my daughter had it too. Hope everything is going better by now and she is breathing easier. Hang in there!

Posted by: Chelle at January 19, 2005 04:53 PM

Our prayers are with your family. And especially for little Gabby! I'm so scared for you guys! Good luck to you, I hope she gets over this very soon!!

Posted by: Rachael & Eva at January 19, 2005 05:35 PM

oy. I'll say a prayer for you guys. I hope Gabby is ok!

Posted by: skits at January 19, 2005 07:30 PM

Oh, Ihope it isn't RSV. But Gabby is a strong girl, she'll be ok. My youngest daughter had it at 4 1/2 months. On Christmas day, no less. A few days in the hospital with oxygen and breathing treatments and she was so much better. Gabby will be fine as frog hair. Prayers and wishes from me to her! And you.

Posted by: angie at January 19, 2005 08:47 PM

Duh..I meant to say, oh I hope she doesn't have to go to the hospital! :)

Posted by: angie at January 19, 2005 08:49 PM

I hope things are okay...been thinking about you.

Posted by: christine at January 19, 2005 09:11 PM

Oh no!! I hope you have taken her in. My Catherine had RSV when she was 3-weeks old and was in the hospital for 3-weeks. It's some pretty scarey stuff.

I hope all is well!!

Posted by: Wendy at January 19, 2005 10:42 PM

everything's going to be fine.... hugs and prayers

Posted by: shy me at January 20, 2005 12:10 AM

Hollea had RSV when she was a little over eight months old, and she did end up in the hospital...for about 12 hours LOL She was home the next morning because she recovered so quickly the doctor couldn't understand why she shouldn't recover fully at home. And the advice about hand-washing is bang on!

Thinking of you both up here in the frozen North *hugs*

Posted by: Rae at January 20, 2005 05:14 AM

I'm sorry to hear she's been diagnosed with RSV. She's around a crew who loves her so I'm sure she'll feel better soon.

Posted by: Grace at January 20, 2005 06:10 AM

It can be serious. Sounds like you caught it pretty quickly though. Good luck. Be Strong. And all my prayers.

Posted by: Lindy at January 20, 2005 06:21 AM

Hi Babes..
Sorry not been around for a while... So sorry to hear about Gabby!! Liam had RSV when he was 1 and was hospitalised for 2 days, he was fine after that only it left him with asthma.. :(

Hope Gabby makes a speedy and full recovery!
*hugs*

About Y
My name is Y, but you can call me "Jesse's girl." I am an Aerobic Dancer and have mastered many moves, but the one I am the most proud of is "The Monkey." I have three kids. ALL FROM THE SAME DAD (Because, did you know someone actually asked me that question?) A 15 year old son, a 11 year old son and a 4 year old daughter who was not planned but who is loved more than words could ever express. I am addicted to Starbucks, reality TV and to getting really good deals through coupons and "club member" savings (Please, respect The Costco Card.) I am extremely competive and if you don't believe me, just ask my husband about the time I sold him out to win a game of Taboo. If you're waiting for the part where I speak of my love for walks on the beach or slow dancing in the rain, you're going to be disappointed because my idea of a good time usually involves things like "burping contests" and "doing The Worm".
