Oh, the love!

I'm completely in love with my baby.

Yesterday, they confirmed that I am going to have a little girl. The ultrasound was unlike any I've ever had. They spent about 40 minutes just letting us see her and we were able to see everything. At one point, we even got to see her little mouth opening and closing. We saw her nose, her eyes, her little fingers opening and closing. Tony and I both cried and fell so deeply in love with her. We saw her heart beating while her little legs kicked. I know it means nothing to anyone else, but to me and my family, it was the greatest experience.

We've decided we're going to name her Gabriella Mercedes. I love her so much already. It's incredible.

They made a video tape of the ultrasound and I tried to record a little bit of it with my camera so I could share it with everyone. I wasn't able to get a good picture, but I did get a shot where you can see her little face, then you can see her hand and her fingers moving. I know you won't enjoy it as much as I do, but I had to show her off.

If you care to see, here's my sweet girl. (the quality is very poor, but you can see... Quicktime required)

You've chosen a beautiful name for your little princess. I absolutely love it.

Thank you, Grace. I know it's not as exciting as what I had for dinner last night, or where I shopped yesterday, but to me, it's the greatest news ever.

I think it's wonderful, and I'm very excited for you! I never comment, because I'm a little shy about that (dumb, I know) but I read you everyday, and I'm glad to hear that things went so well. Babies are the coolest. :-)

I love ultrasounds. I only had 1 when I was pregnant, but it was the coolest thing. I cried. It's just all so sweet.

You chose such a beautiful name and the ultrasound was fascinating! I had my kids before they ever did that kind of thing so I never got to see my little ones before they were born. Congrats, again!

i'm so very, very happy for you and the name is beautiful!

Posted by: djmofo at April 8, 2004 6:09 PM

You know, I think the ultrasounds were my favourite part of being pregnant. Brought back lots of wonderful memories for me. I will admit that I'm slightly jealous, and wish that I could have just suspended some of that time forever. They grow so fast! Enjoy every minute of having a little girl. They are a wonderful blessing. There is nothing like a mother-daughter bond.

Congratulations!

About Y
My name is Y, but you can call me "Jesse's girl." I am an Aerobic Dancer and have mastered many moves, but the one I am the most proud of is "The Monkey." I have three kids. ALL FROM THE SAME DAD (Because, did you know someone actually asked me that question?) A 15 year old son, a 11 year old son and a 4 year old daughter who was not planned but who is loved more than words could ever express. I am addicted to Starbucks, reality TV and to getting really good deals through coupons and "club member" savings (Please, respect The Costco Card.) I am extremely competive and if you don't believe me, just ask my husband about the time I sold him out to win a game of Taboo. If you're waiting for the part where I speak of my love for walks on the beach or slow dancing in the rain, you're going to be disappointed because my idea of a good time usually involves things like "burping contests" and "doing The Worm".
