I should probably have ended this post with a ” ;-) ” so you’d be all “ohhh she wasn’t really pissed that I didn’t find it to be the cutest thing ever

Gabby will not take a bottle (and I’m thinking now that’s she’s already six months old and NEVER has taken ONE bottle, she probably never will.) Nor, will she take a pacifier. She’s like “If it aint Mamma’s Tit… SCREW IT!” However, she started doing this thing with her hand when she’s hungry that Tony and I think is one of the cutest things in the history of cute things.
It’s her silent shout out to Ma’Boobs.

You’re probably thinking… “eh, I’ve seen babies do cuter things that that” But trust me… NO, you haven’t!
I mean, come on! LOOK! She PRETENDS like she’s sucking on the palm of her hand to make me feel guilty for not giving her The Tit! Look at her eyes, she’s all “Man, I sure would like some tittymilk right now, but mom’s too busy to sit down, unsnap the bra and whip it out again, so, I’ll just sit here and pretend to suck on the palm of my wittle hands and make sucking noises while pretending to suck on the palm of my hand.”
If you don’t think that’s the cutest thing ever, then you can go…
uh…
SCREW IT!

She just keeps getting cuter and cuter! How can you stand someone sooooo darn cute, and NOT let her suck the mama’s boob? LOL! Just Kidding. I know being on the beck and call of a hungry baby is NOT easy. She may never take to a pacifier. Many don’t. But a bottle or at least a TIGHT sippy cup, may give you some time to yourself eventually. Just keep trying. Good luck.

Hi, um, this is totally unhelpful, but Daphne? NEVER TOOK A SINGLE BOTTLE. And I worked! She would wait ten hours for me to get home and then ate alllll night long.
And this was our third, so we were no amateurs. This girl is stubborn.
But never ever did anything approaching that cute when hungry!

Sure she will!! I breastfed my Gabriella until she was 15 months old and during that time she RESISTED the bottle in oh so many ways. Thing is if the mom doesn’t completly want to stop breastfeeding these little smart babies soooooooo knows it !! I tried quiting when Gabriella was 1 year old but I was semi about it and oh how she knew that. So I waited until i got tired to whip out the boob whenever she whined and put her on the bottle instead, it took a week or so but hey! these babies wanna eat 😉 But I couldnt show my boobs for almost a month after cos then she would point at them and go totally nuts ! Btw, your baby is truly so cute.

I have a friend who is still nursing a child that will be 3 in a couple of months. Now, I completely understand the merits of nursing, etc and she only does this at night with him, but i gotta wonder…wouldn’t the psyche of a 3-year-old be even harder to negotiate with when it comes to weaning than someone gabby’s age? can you imagine? sheesh!
anyway, I don’t envy you. well, I envy you for your beautiful daughter, but for the weaning part, you’re a saint. good luck with it!

She is the prettiest baby, and I for one am in awe of your 6 month no bottle streak. Exclusive BFing is hard fucking work, and I admire everyone who is able to do it.

She is so beautiful! I just wanna tickle those chubby cheeks!! I feel do feel your pain tho, I bfed my middle son and he almost refused to drink out of anything that didnt resemble a titty. Then I remembered a trick a daycare “gramma” showed me once.. Bfed babies sometimes go straight from the breast to the cup.. with no problems. Not just any cup.. but an OPEN cup. So I held my son in the sitting position and put a cup to his mouth, slighly tilted and voila he drank! WOOHOOO! After that he didnt give me many problems. Unfortuantly he was only 6 weeks old so he couldn’t do it himself.. which led to the same problem.. I had momma stuff to do and he still needed to be clutched to drink. He did however “forget” his obsession to the titty and took Nuk bottles.
    Good luck hun.. *hugs*

    Cutie! I love that!
Eva used to say “Mmm-yum-mmm-yum-mmm-yum” and head-butt my chest when she wanted to nurse.
