I WANT TO BITE HER ALL OVER!!!!!
![]()
I can’t believe how much my girl has changed in just 7 weeks. Everyday, she looks more beautiful than she looked the day before. As much as I love watching her grow, I need to ask time to please SLOW DOWN. Please?
When I look at my boys I am reminded just how quickly the time passes by and how fast they grow. One day, you’re holding this sweet little baby in your arms, the next, you’re driving him to junior high school. While the experience of watching my children grow has been one of inexplicable joy, the reality of how quickly it all happens can be depressing. It truly is bittersweet.

Ok, enough of the mushy mommy talk. Let’s talk about how beautiful that girl is…
Back when I was cool, I used to laugh at people like me.
I do NOT miss going to work everyday. After 14 years, I was starting to hate my job. However, you know what I do miss?
ADULT CONVERSATION
Oh my God, I miss it.
When I am out and another human adult speaks to me, I lose my mind. I’m like “YOU WANT TO TALK SOME MORE? I CAN TALK SOME MORE. I DON’T HAVE TO BE ANYWHERE IN PARTICULAR AT ANY PARTICULAR TIME!”
I went to visit my grandparents on Monday night and I talked so much, my jaw hurt and my lips were numb. And I’m not even kidding.
Seriously.
Don’t get me wrong, I love talking to my daughter during the day. I love how she tries so hard to talk to me and how she smiles when I look at her. And I love when my boys come home from school and they tell me about their day. I love that more than anything.
But oh how I miss talking to someone who doesn’t puke on me while I’m in the middle of a sentence or whose vocabulary doesn’t consist of “that sucks, crap, poop and fart”
I think I might be going a little crazy, not being around adults.
I think. Maybe not, but quite possibly.
That NOSE!
Yesterday I was watching Oprah (just because I can’t stand her doesn’t mean I’m not allowed to watch her show!!) She had Barry Manilow on to surprise his fans. Now these women went crazy. They were crying and singing along to every song, and I asked myself…
“Why”? Why are the crying? Why are they screaming? Why are they acting this way? Over him. Am I missing out on something great by NOT loving him?
And I was being completely sincere. What is it about him that women love? Because I don’t get it. I don’t see what THEY see. I have to admit, I don’t know his music AT ALL, so that could be why I don’t get it.
I know my best friend in all the land loves him so much, and I’ve never asked her why.
So, you Manilow fans, explain it to me. Please.
WHY?
my heart!
Last night, Ethan found a note Andrew had left for me on the kitchen table. It said “I love you mom, and Gabby and Dad.”
He burst into tears, “Andrew doesn’t love ME. He didn’t write my name. He doesn’t love his OWN BROTHER.”
The look on Andrew’s face when he realised he forgot to write Ethan’s name broke my heart. He does love Ethan, very much, and I know it was an accident that he didn’t write it, but no matter what Andrew said, Ethan wouldn’t listen.
“Oh, yeah, sure you love me, you don’t even write my name with the rest of the family!”
Andrew left the room, his eyes full of tears because he knew he had hurt Ethan deeply, and that hurt him.
I tried to comfort Ethan, but he sobbed uncontrollably. I held him as he buried his sweet face in my chest and said “Mom, I don’t understand, he’s my only brother and I love him more than anything, I think about him ALL DAY in school.”
I lost it. I started to cry for both of them. I cried because I knew Ethan was truly devestated and felt betrayed by his brother, and I cried because I knew Andrew was devestated that he caused his brother that much hurt. And I cried because my children love each other deeply and the beauty of that touched me to the core of my being.
It also made me realise how things that I think may not matter, matter to THEM. Things that may seem unimportant to me, little things, may be a huge deal. It made me realise I need to be more considerate of what I say and what I do, because I never want to make my children hurt the way I saw Ethan hurt last night, ever.
I thank God everyday for those boys. They teach me new things everyday. They make me a better human being. But mostly, they make me happy, even when they’re breaking my heart.
I will resist using the corny title in which I was going to put UDDERS in caps when I wrote *shudders*
A friend of mine just referred to milk as “cow puss”
I will never be able to drink another glass of it as long as I live.
Generous, my ASS!
You know what?
I think I hate Oprah.
I do. She gives away a new car to her entire audience and everyone is all “ohhhh Oprah is so kind and giving and generous! She’s amazing! She gave everyone a new car! LET’S ALL WORSHIP OPRAH!!!”
No, let’s not.
Oprah didn’t give anyone a car, Pontiac did.
But Oprah gets the glory. She gets credit.
The woman is a billionare, no? Yet every time “she” gives something away, it’s donated.
Gah, that irritates me. BADLY.
And don’t even get me started on how she had the NERVE to tell her audience that fake flowers are unacceptable to put in your home, because, yeah Oprah, we all can afford to have freshly cut, totally REAL flowers in our houses just like you, right?
Bitch.
Lumpy
Breastfeeding… It’s all fun and games until you get Mastitis.
My right tit is hard as a rock, it has red spots all over it and it’s about 2 times the size of my left tit. Fun. I’ve been doing all of the home treatments they’ve told me to do and it’s still just as bad as it was last night, which scares me because I was read what they might have to do if there is an abscess.
If an abscess is present, it must be drained. After injection of local anesthetic, the doctor may drain an abscess near the surface of the skin either by aspiration with a needle and syringe or by using a small incision. This can be done in the doctorοΏ½s office or Emergency Department.
If the abscess is deep in the breast, however, it may require surgical drainage in the operating room. This is usually done under general anesthesia in order to minimize pain and completely drain the abscess. Antibiotics and heat on the area are also used for abscesses.
I almost passed out. Seriously.
Ah, the joys of motherhood.
On a positive note, I weighed in at Weight Watchers today and I lost 3 pounds exactly. So that’s 34 since Gabby was born and 9.6 since I started WW.
Come to think of it, I wonder how much this abscess weighs?
And you can’t have her!
We finally recieved Gabby’s first portraits last night. They were taken when she was 11 days old.
They define the word “Precious”.

I can’t stop looking at them and repeating out loud, “That beautiful girl is MY daughter.”
I wasn’t supposed to have a daughter. I was the mother of two handsome, intelligent, hilarious boys. They were my everything and we weren’t going to have any more children because we didn’t need anymore children. We had everything we ever wanted in our boys.
Family and friends would constantly ask us if were were going to “try for a girl.”
“No.” I would firmly respond to their inquiries. We will not try for a girl. We have two healthy, amazing boys and they are all we need.
I would also tell people that I didn’t think I could be a good mother to a girl. I didn’t have a good relationship with my mother growing up, she resented me and was always angry with me. I was afraid I’d be that way with my daughter.
Besides, two kids was ENOUGH. I couldn’t even imagine a third child in our house.
Little did we know… God had other plans for our lives. He knew that we needed a little girl, even though we didn’t realise it.

So I look at these pictures and I am in awe of the beautiful child that I see. The little girl with a face so sweet it melts my heart.
And she’s mine. She belongs to me.

And I love her. Oh, how I love her.
BIG PIMPIN’
Ethan’s school is having their first fundraiser right now. He’s very excited about it and he’s trying very hard to be the top seller in the school. He has gone door to door in the neighborhood, hit up family and friends and has only sold 17 items. I did a little research and found at that people can order from the online catalog and Ethan will get credit for those orders.
SO… I figured I’d use this site to see if I can’t help make ma’ boy the top seller this year so he can win the top prize (which is the “dance dance revolution” game. HA!)
IF you’d be interested in buying something, leave a comment or send me an email and I’ll send you the information.
THANK YOU.
Or not. Either way, he can’t say mommy didn’t try to help.
